The Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru “Cuvée de Réserve” by Pierre Péters is a Champagne that originates from the prestigious territory of the Côte des Blancs from a selection of pure Chardonnay grapes. As is customary for Réserve Champagnes, it is made with part of the grapes from the vintage to which reserve wines from about fifteen different vintages are added, contributing to making the cuvée balanced, harmonious, and complex.
The Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru “Cuvée de Réserve” is the label that perfectly represents the Pierre Péters style, a family-run Maison founded in 1940, managing 19 hectares of vineyards located in prestigious areas of the Côte des Blancs. The Chardonnay vines are about 30 years old, are east-facing, and are found in the territories of the municipalities classified as Grand Cru of: Le Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, Avize, and Cramant. An area just a few kilometers south of Epernay on the famous chalky soils, which give wines with refined, elegant, and mineral aromas. The grapes are pressed softly and the must flower is fermented in steel tanks. The base wines mature in steel vats for a few months, until the moment of creating the cuvée, with the addition of reserve wines. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Champenoise method and the wines rest sur lattes in the cellars of the Maison for 24 months.
The Grand Cru “Cuvée de Réserve” by Pierre Péters is a Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs of great elegance and finesse, expressing the best qualities of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. It presents an intense yellow with brilliant golden reflections. The perlage is continuous and fine. The bouquet offers aromas of white flowers, citrus notes, ripe fruit, bread crust, and fresh almond. On the palate, it is creamy and harmonious, with an intense sip and a fresh, mineral finish.
