Organic and biodynamicThe Chardonnay from Planeta is a full-bodied and intense wine, with good structure, aged for 12 months in barrels. Floral, citrus, mineral and marine tones blend in a soft and velvety sip, dense and enveloping as only a Sicilian Chardonnay can be
The Chardonnay from Planeta has become the symbol of the Sicilian oenological renaissance. It was born from a challenge, from the desire to create a wine capable of competing with the best whites in the world, holding its own against the great labels made from this noble and widely spread grape variety. A project that began in 1985 and is now complete, as evidenced by the countless awards and recognitions that, with each harvest, are bestowed upon this wine. An extraordinary Sicilian white, in which aromas and flavors encapsulate the grace and power of Sicily.
The Chardonnay from Planeta comes to life from the homonymous grape variety, cultivated within the historic vineyards of Maroccoli and Ulmo, located at an altitude ranging from 250 to 415 meters above sea level. The grapes, carefully selected to ensure only the best of the terroir of origin, are destemmed and gently pressed, then fermented in barriques at a controlled temperature of 18 degrees. Then the aging phase begins, carried out for 12 months in oak barriques, partly new and partly second-use. Once maturation is complete, the wine is ready to be bottled.
The white wine Chardonnay from Planeta presents itself with a particularly intense appearance, reminiscent of the shade of gold, crossed by slight greenish reflections. Rich and layered on the nose, where flowers and fruit, expressed in different nuances, alternate with spicier and buttery aromas. Very captivating on the palate, where, thanks to its full and enveloping structure, it captivates from the very first sips, highlighting a savory texture that makes the long and persistent finish even more enjoyable. One of the most excellent labels produced by the Planeta winery, always at the top of the main Italian and international industry guides.
