The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione "Riserva di Fizzano" is a red wine that expresses the characteristics of a single vineyard. After two years of aging in wood, it shows a very refined and intense bouquet reminiscent of red fruit, spices, coffee and cocoa. On the palate, it is elegant, enveloping and full-bodied, with a sweet tannic texture and good freshness.

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione “Riserva di Fizzano” is a red wine that stands at the top of the Chianti Classico denomination. It boasts the prestigious mention of “Gran Riserva”, positioning itself as the flagship of the production of the Rocca delle Macie winery, born from the work carried out over the years in the agronomic management of the terroir from which it originates, the cru of Fizzano. Elegance, a wide aromatic heritage, and excellent aging potential are the most important characteristics that best describe the profile of this label.

The “Riserva di Fizzano” is a Chianti Classico Gran Selezione that comes from a blend where, alongside 95% Sangiovese, we also find 5% Merlot. Both varieties grow in a single parcel, the cru of Fizziano, which extends over 35 hectares and is rich in sand and skeleton, with a south-west exposure. After the fermentation of the must in stainless steel containers, the wine ages for two years both in French oak barrels with a capacity of 35 hectoliters, and in 225-liter barriques. At the end of the aging process, Rocca delle Macie begins the bottling and marketing procedures.

This Chianti Classico Gran Selezione “Riserva di Fizzano” Rocca delle Macie presents itself with a concentrated color, reminiscent of ruby. The range of notes that envelop the nostrils contains rich and layered nuances, shifting from wild fruit to spicy sensations. On the palate, it has excellent body, fine and enveloping, entering with a sharp and harmonious sip, from which a fresh vein emerges. It closes with a finish that has excellent persistence. A label that has always been in the heart of national and international critics, unanimous in recognizing it over time with scores that often reach peaks.
