Chianti Colli Fiorentini 'Skyline' Uggiano 2023

The Chianti Colli Fiorentini “Skyline” represents the version of the Uggiano winery of the most classic and historic wine of Tuscany, which has made its name famous worldwide. A label born from the desire to give new luster and importance to this ancient denomination, in the sign of excellence, creating a high-quality wine, in line with the best tradition of the splendid area of the Colli Fiorentini. The long aging in barrel allows the Sangiovese to achieve perfect harmony and expressive maturity, combining the typical fruity aromas of the grape variety with elegant tertiary evolution notes.

“Skyline” is an authentic child of the great terroir of Chianti. The Uggiano estate is located in the area of the Colli Fiorentini, particularly in the zone that extends from Montespertoli towards Montelupo Fiorentino and San Casciano Val di Pesa. The suitable soils and the cool climate allow Sangiovese and Canaiolo to express themselves at the highest qualitative levels, with perfect phenolic ripeness. The vineyards are cultivated at about 250-300 metersin altitude above sea level. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 26-38 °C, with a maceration on the skins lasting a couple of weeks. It ages for 14 months in wooden barrels of 30/60 hectoliters. Before being marketed, it ages in bottle for an additional 12 months.

The Chianti “Skyline” is the typical expression of the territory. A full-bodied red that highlights the best qualities of Sangiovese cultivated in the magnificent Chianti region. In the glass, it has a ruby red color with garnet reflections. On the nose, it releases an intense bouquet, with aromas of violet, cherry, marasca, small red berry fruits, hints of vanilla, spices, and woody notes. On the palate, it has a good structure, with a sip of beautiful richness and aromatic complexity. The tannins are dense and ripe, and the finish is balanced and persistent.
