The Falanghina "Via del Campo" is an elegant, soft, and velvety wine, aged for 8 months in barrels. Bright aromas of exotic fruit blend with delicately toasted and spiced nuances in a harmonious, warm, savory, and well-structured tasting experience.
The ‘Via del Campo’ Quintodecimo Falanghina is a Campanian label capable of condensing the fruity and mineral character of the grape variety, giving rise to an expression of immeasurable pleasure. Quintodecimo represents the production reality of Luigi Moio, a world-renowned winemaker and full professor of Enology at the Federico II University of Naples, who after years of research and studies between Italy and France started his winemaking project in the green Irpinia together with his wife Laura, focusing exclusively on indigenous varieties like Falanghina.
Quintodecimo ‘Via del Campo’ Falanghina is made exclusively from grapes of the same name grown in the vineyard Via del Campo, in the area of Piana dei Greci, in Mirabella Eclano. Here, the vines, planted in 2004, benefit from an altitude of 360 meters above sea level and clay-limestone soil. Once the grapes have reached full aromatic maturity, manual harvesting is carried out, followed by the long pressing of whole bunches. After a brief clarification through
natural sedimentation, 70% of the mass is vinified in stainless steel tanks while the remaining 30% ferments in new oak barriques. The subsequent maturation phase on the fine lees takes place in the same type of wine containers and lasts for 8 months before blending and final bottling. The Quintodecimo ‘Via del Campo’ Falanghina is a bright straw-yellow color tending towards golden. The olfactory range spans perceptions of medlar, apple, pineapple, lychee, wildflowers, and aromatic herbs, driven by deeper notes of hazelnut and refined briny mineral tones. Elegant and well-structured on the palate, where the warm softness coexists in balance with the vibrant freshness and marked savory character. Pleasant is the long finish slightly oaky.
