The amaro Fernet Branca was born in an important reality of the Italian landscape. The Fratelli Branca Distilleries owe their fame to the Milanese pharmacist Bernardino Branca, who in 1845 created an amaro based on herbs. The success was immediate, and his creations continue to be sold all over the world. Faithful to the original recipe,the amaro is still today made with 27 carefully selected herbs, spices, and roots to ensure the highest quality. The ingredients come from all over the planet: rhubarb from China, gentian from France, galangal from India or Sri Lanka, chamomile from Europe and Argentina. The production takes place using traditional methods, through long infusions of botanicals in alcohol, in order to extract all the aromatic essences. Before bottling, the amaro matures for a year in oak barrels.
