La Valdotaine's Gin delle Alpi ‘Acqueverdi’ embodies the spirit of the mountain. Inspired by the magical Verruc path, which starts from a centuries-old chestnut tree near the Plout Sanctuary, this gin captures the essence of the 'eiva verta' (it means green waters in the local patois dialect). Its botanicals grow along the banks of the streams and build a fresh, herbaceous aromatic profile that combines well with the spicy hints of juniper. Dry, clean and savoury, it is perfect for adding a touch of mountain to your cocktails

The Gin delle Alpi ‘Acqueverdi’ from the small distillery La Valdotaine is a gin produced among the mountains of Valle d’Aosta that stands out for its intensely balsamic style. The name ‘Acqueverdi’ comes from a spring located in the area of Saint-Marcel, at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level, where a centuries-old chestnut tree near the Sanctuary of Plout marks the beginning of the Verruc path that leads, indeed, to the Acqueverdi spring, “eiva verta” in the local dialect. In particular, the name of this spring evokes the turquoise color of its water, a feature determined by the high concentration of rare mineral elements dissolved in it. This water is one of the fundamental ingredients behind the character of La Valdotaine's distillates.

La Valdotaine Gin delle Alpi ‘Acqueverdi’ is born from the combination of alcohol, water from the Acqueverdi spring, juniper berries, and a selection of fine alpine herbs collected at high altitude. Each botanical is infused separately in alcoholic solution and then distilled at lowtemperature, still separately. This is followed by the blending of the different distillates and then the dilution with water from the Acqueverdi spring up to an alcohol content of 43%.

To the eye, the Gin delle Alpi ‘Acqueverdi’ from the Aosta Valley reality La Valdotaine shows a transparent and crystalline appearance with intriguing greenish hues. The intense olfactory panorama consists of balsamic and vegetal sensations that evoke juniper berries and alpine herbs, all supported by floral hints and a mineral tone provided by the water from the Acqueverdi spring. The taste is dry and decisive, with excellent persistence and intensity, featuring a coherent balsamic finish that invites further tastings.
