Grappa di Barbera 'Monriondo' Marolo
Aged Grappa produced from Barbera pomaces and aged in barrique in which it has been aged red wine, with intense scents of red fruits and a taste that is fruity and dry, round and full-bodied
The Grappa di Barbera “Monriondo” by Marolo is a deep distillate, where spicy and fruity aromas tell of a Grappa that is subtle yet full and flavorful. Thanks to the Marolo distillery, always an example of innovation, tenacity, and great insights. Just like in this case, where the Grappa is rested in woods that previously contained red wine, thus acquiring a characteristic amber color, shifting towards red. A territorial and identity label, celebrating the myth of Marolo.
The “Monriondo” is a Grappa di Barbera that Marolo produces starting from the pomace of the well-known Piedmontese grape variety, coming from the DOC area of Barbera d’Alba. Great attention is paid to the origin of the raw material, carefully and meticulously selected. The distillation process uses still pots that operate with the discontinuous method in a water bath. Once the Grappa is obtained, at the end of the processing, it is transferred to second-pass barriques that previously contained wine red, where it remains to refine until the distillery team deems it ready to be bottled and put on the market.
“Monriondo” Grappa di Barbera signed by Marolo presents itself to the eye with a light amber color, characterized by some slight reflections that tend more towards red. The range of notes that envelops the nose moves on a concentrated and dry texture, from which fruity hints especially emerge. The entrance to the palate is full-bodied, where the sip becomes intense and balanced, characterized by a particular persistence. A bottle that tells the spirit of Piedmontese distillation through a label of personality, perfect for making after-dinner gatherings with friends more joyful.
