The Kerner from Nossing is a soft and fragrant white wine, characterized by character and impeccable balance. The aromas are intense, able to evoke citrus, hay, and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is round, fresh, dry, and mineral

The Kerner from the South Tyrolean producer Manni Nӧssing is characterized as a white wine of vibrant freshness and minerality, capable of reflecting the style of one of the most interesting realities of the Isarco Valley. The Kerner is a genetic hybrid created in 1929 at the experimental station of Weinsberg, Germany, by crossing Schiava Grossa and Riesling Renano. The name pays homage to the poet Justinus Kerner, who lived in the city of Weinsberg during the 19th century. The variety was introduced in the Isarco Valley in 1967, a territory that still represents its area of maximum diffusion throughout South Tyrol today. Here, the Kerner has shown an exceptional ability to adapt, also due to its remarkable resistance to winter frosts, establishing itself over time as one of the most important grape varieties in the area, particularly in Bressanone, where the Nӧssing winery operates.

Manni Nӧssing Kerner is made exclusively from Kerner grapes sourced from vineyards located in the areas of Pluner and Mitsch, at a height of 700 meters above sea level. Thesoils are sandy and granitic while the exposure is to the south and southwest. After harvesting, the bunches are transferred to the winery and subjected to soft pressing. The must obtained is partially conveyed into stainless steel tanks and partially into acacia barrels for alcoholic fermentation of about 12 days at controlled temperature. The maturation phase of several months also takes place between steel tanks and acacia barrels, and after a further brief resting in the bottle, the wine is finally ready to be marketed.

The white wine from South Tyrol Kerner Manni Nӧssing has a pale yellow hue. The aromatic spectrum is broad and mineral, rich in hints of citrus and white-fleshed fruit, with herbaceous notes of hay in the background. The sip, solid and persistent, reveals a dry and clean finish, with great freshness and drinkability.
