The 'Viaggio a Contessa Entellina' box from the Sicilian winery Donnafugata is a boxed set containing two fine labels from the area of Contessa Entellina, the place where the history of Donnafugata, one of the most important wineries in southern Italy, began. The municipality of Contessa Entellina is located about 30 kilometres north-east of Menfi, in the hinterland of western Sicily. Here the Rallo family, owners of Donnafugata, manage the beauty of 343 hectares of vineyards, spread over 10 different districts dedicated to no less than 19 grape varieties.

Donnafugata's 'Journey to Contessa Entellina' box features a bottle of the red wine 'Angheli' and a bottle of the white wine 'Vigna di Gabri'. These two labels, produced on the Contessa Entellina estate, are presented inside a fine wooden box signed and illustrated by Donnafugata. In detail, the 'Angheli' red is a wine that shows the international look of Contessa Entellina's Mediterranean terroir, the result of a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and the use of second-passage French oak barriques for ageing for 12 months. The result is a wine of great intensity and envelopment, endowed with generous fruity, balsamic and spicy sensations. The white wine 'Vigna di Gabri' is also the result of the encounter between Sicilian and French winemaking, in particular from a blend of Ansonica, Catarratto, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier grapes. Refinement takes place for 85% of the mass in steel and the remaining 15% in French oak barriques of second passage on the noble lees, resulting in a white balanced between softness and freshness, with a savoury and sunny character completed by a light varietal aromatic vein.
