With Malaparte's 'Pet Nat', we proudly welcome sparkling wines made using the ancestral method from Castilla y Leon, Spain. Simple without ever being banal, pure and joyfully convivial, this Spanish ancestral wine will be your salvation on summer afternoons. The grape variety featured on this label is Palomino, a variety as versatile as a blank canvas. Malaparte was created with the idea of ennobling this wine-growing area with the production of wines with an agricultural and slightly funky character.
Malaparte's 'Pet Nat' is a classic example of a sparkling wine made using the ancestral method from 100% Palomino grapes. What does this mean? Let's start with the vineyard management: the 5.5 hectares owned by the Malaparte winery are cultivated organically and the vines are fortunate enough to be located at an altitude of 900 metres, where they enjoy significant temperature variations between day and night. Moving on to the winery: the grapes are left to ferment spontaneously without the use of industrial yeasts and the wine is bottled while still containing sugars. With the arrival of spring after the harvest, this sparkling wine naturally referments in the bottle, giving rise to its inimitable and refreshing bubbles.
Malaparte wants to ennoble sparkling wines with a joyful and convivial drinkability. This 'Pet Nat' presents itself in the glass with a bright yellow colour rich in golden reflections and releases pleasant notes of white flowers and apple and peach pulp on the nose, with pleasant herbaceous and Mediterranean nuances, especially laurel. On the palate, it is agile, smooth and unsophisticated, with invigorating freshness and a pleasant, savoury finish. Its distinctive note? A hint of almond on the finish.
