The Pinot Noir by Peter Zemmer is an Alto Adige interpretation of the most well-known red grape variety in the world. The grapes are grown at 450 meters above sea level and enjoy a truly favorable microclimate. On the nose, it offers hints of berries, cherry, and light spices, while on the palate it is balanced, elegant, and very persistent.

The Pinot Noir by Peter Zemmer is a South Tyrolean version of the famous dark-skinned Burgundy grape, loved by all enthusiasts of reds characterized by an elegant and refined face. Cultivated for centuries in South Tyrol, Pinot Noir has now become one of the enological symbols of the region, expressing some of the most interesting versions at the national level. The altitude of the vineyards, the cool climate, and the suitable soils contribute to creating an ideal habitat for producing great wines, capable of seducing with delicate aromas, multifaceted scents, and a great pleasantness on the palate.

This red from Peter Zemmer is a pure Pinot Noir made by a small artisanal winery in the area of Bassa Atesina. It is a historic estate that has been cultivating vines and producing wines in the hilly area near the village of Cortina for almost a century. The Pinot Noir vines are cultivated at an altitude of about 450 meters above sea level, on soils characterized by a calcareous-clay matrix. The sunny exposures, the cool and breezy climate, ensure an excellent ripening of the grapes with rich aromatic profiles. At the end of the harvest, vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with a maceration on the skins of about a week. Before being bottled, the wine matures for several months in large French oak barrels and in barriques.

The Pinot Noir Peter Zemmer is one of the labels that best illustrates the excellent adaptation of the Burgundy grape in South Tyrol. A now historic combination that has allowed the selection of the best areas to enhance its characteristics of fruity elegance and expressive freshness. In the glass, it presents itself with a deep ruby color with slight garnet reflections. On the nose, it offers notes of small red berries, currants, raspberries, wild strawberries, cherries, and delicate spicy hints. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with a beautiful aromatic richness and a slender and linear sip, leading to a fresh and slightly savory finish. It is a perfect label to understand the true face of South Tyrolean Pinot Noir.
