The Gottardi family, originally from Mazzon, has been trading in wines in Austria for over a century and runs a shop in Innsbruck. In the 1960s, they began cultivating vineyards and producing wines, quickly establishing themselves as one of the reference estates in the Alto Adige Pinot Nero landscape. The wine is the pure and direct expression of the grapes that come from the vineyards of Mazzon, one of the most vocated areas in Italy for the cultivation of Pinot Nero. The altitude, the perfect exposure to the sun, and the good temperature excursions make this small plateau above Egna a true cru, allowing for the maturation of grapes of absolute excellence. The best bunches are sent to the fermentation phase, which takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with the classic maceration on the skins. The wine matures for a year in barrique, for ¼ new, and for another 8 months in large cask.
