The Pomino by Frescobaldi is a white wine with typical straw yellow hues of Chardonnay. On the nose, it impresses with the intensity of aromas such as wisteria, white and tropical fruits. The palate confirms freshness and minerality, supported by round softness
The Pomino Bianco from the renowned Tuscan winery Frescobaldi is a bottle with a refreshing and balanced taste, made through a brief aging in barrique for a small part of the mass. This label is produced at the Castello Pomino, from which it takes its name, a magnificent estate located at the foot of the Florentine mountains and surrounded by woods of sequoias, firs, and chestnuts. The origins of the castle date back to 1500, and this territory has been known since ancient times for its remarkable viticultural vocation, as evidenced by the fact that Cosimo de' Medici included it among the four areas of excellence for wine in Tuscany, alongside Chianti, Carmignano, and Val d'Arno di Sopra.
Frescobaldi Pomino Bianco is crafted from a blend primarily of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco, to which a small percentage of complementary varieties is added. These grapes are trained in guyot on particularly draining sandy soils. The pressing of the grapes is done gently, limiting contact with oxygen as much as possible, and the must is then vinified in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with a small part that instead ferments in French oak barrique. After a short maturation period in the same types of containers, the blending of the masses and the subsequent bottling take place.
The color of Frescobaldi's Pomino Bianco is bright straw yellow. On the nose, intense aromas of white-fleshed fruit and citrus such as apple, peach, pear, and cedar are perceived, accompanied by floral notes of wisteria, chamomile, and broom. The olfactory context is completed by mineral, herbaceous, and exotic fruit hints. Excellent balance on the palate, where the enveloping softness and the fresh-savory tension coexist in harmony.
