The Port The Tawny by Graham's is an intense and full-bodied fortified wine, aged for 7-9 years in old oak barrels. Perfumes of orange peel, figs and raisins emerge from a complex fruity, warm and plesant profile

The Porto “The Tawny” from the winery W. & J. Graham's is a fortified wine intense and aromatically rich, aged for a long time in oak barrels. It is made with the classic red grape varieties from the Douro region, the historical cradle of this great Portuguese fortified wine, famous worldwide for centuries. The Tawny version is produced essentially with the same grapes as the Ruby, but with aging in barrels of various sizes, which favor its aging and aromatic evolution towards greater complexity.

“The Tawny” is produced by the winery W. & J. Graham's in Portugal, in the famous Douro region. The small winery is famous for the quality of its wines, which are still made with extreme artisanal care. The grapes are grown in five different vineyards, which together cover about 7 hectares and are located in some of the absolute best areas of the Douro Valley: Quinta dos Malvedos, Quinta do Tua, Quinta das Lages, Quinta da Vila Velha, and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas. The vines are managed with the utmost respect for a still unspoiled natural environment, following the principles of organic farming.respect for a still unspoiled natural environment, following the principles of organic farming. It is produced with the grapes of the classic red grape varieties of the Douro area: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cao, and Sousao. At the end of the harvest, fermentation and red winemaking take place. The wines are then taken to the winery in Vila Nova de Gaia, where they age in oak barrels of different sizes in a climate moderated by the presence of the breezes from the Atlantic Ocean. The aging period in wood lasts from 7 to 9 years and usually takes place first in large barrels, then in smaller barrels, which favor the aromatic evolution of the Porto towards more complex and mature notes.

“The Tawny” Porto from W. & J. Graham's represents the entry-level label into the world of Tawny Porto, a type that offers wines aged for several decades. It presents a golden yellow color, with brilliant amber highlights. The bouquet is rich and elegant, with fruity aromas, citrus peel, raisins, and figs. The entry on the palateis soft, with full and broad aromas and a finish of good persistence, returning to pleasant fruity notes.
