RIBOLLA GIALLA ATTEMS 2023 DESCRIPTION

Attems' Ribolla Gialla is the most representative label of the Collio Goriziano territory. It is made from the native white grape variety of the region, which has been present in these lands for centuries. It is increasingly appreciated by enthusiasts for its elegant, pleasantly fresh and sapid character. Its delicate citrus and fruity aromas make it a remarkably versatile wine at the table. Due to its characteristics, it is excellent to enjoy as an aperitif, paired with appetizers, seafood first courses, and vegetable-based dishes.

The Ribolla Gialla wine is produced by a winery with great traditions. The Attems estate has been a protagonist in the Friulian wine scene for centuries. Today, it manages 44 hectares located in the hilly area around Gorizia, characterized by a mild and always ventilated climate. The Ribolla Gialla vineyards are located in the most vocated areas of the estate for the cultivation of this grape variety, characterized by poor soils, mainly composed of calcareous marls and sandstones of Eocene origin, resulting from the uplift and emergence of ancient sea floors. The harvest takes place around mid-September at full ripening of the grapes. The best bunches are pressed very gently. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15-17 °C. The wine matures for four months in stainless steel tanks on the fine lees with periodic bâtonnage, which helps enrich the aromas and structure of the Ribolla Gialla.

Attems' Ribolla Gialla is a refined wine with an essential profile, which transparently showcases the character of an extraordinary terroir highly suited for producing outstanding white wines.

In the glass, it has a clear and brilliant straw-yellow colour. The olfactory profile recalls aromas of white-fleshed fruit, green apple, white peach, plum, citrus notes, floral hints, and aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub. Clear and essential, it expresses itself on the palate with elegance and finesse, thanks to a taut and vertical sip that leads to a sapid finish and lively mineral freshness.
