Riesling Mosel Trocken Schloss Lieser 2024

The Riesling Mosel Trocken from the Schloss Lieser winery is a mineral white wine, fresh and endowed with a pleasant aromatic richness, produced in Lieser, in the Moselle region of Germany. This bottle is made from pure Riesling grapes sourced from vineyards with excellent exposures, located on very steep and rugged hills, with slopes sometimes exceeding 30%. The vines are cultivated at high density supported by stakes made of two canes bent into a heart shape to support the growing shoots on soils characterized by slate-rich earth even on the surface, which aims to amplify the reception of sunlight. The winery, owner of about 13 hectares of vineyards, has become, thanks to the work of Thomas Haag, one of the most important and prestigious producers of Riesling in the Moselle.

The Mosel Riesling Trocken from Schloss Lieser is produced with carefully selected grapes both in the vineyard and in the winery, hand-picked towards the second half of October. The bunches brought to the winery are destemmed and gently pressed to then carry out the alcoholic fermentation at low temperature, using exclusively indigenous yeasts, in stainless steel containers for a few weeks. Then it is racked and clarified if necessary, after which the wine remains in aging for several months in stainless steel tanks before being bottled and finally ready for commercialization.

The Trocken Mosel Riesling from the Schloss Lieser winery presents itself with a bright straw yellow color. On the nose, intense aromas of yellow and ripe white fruit appear, including apple and peach, floral notes of wildflowers and citrus, including lemon zest, finishing with light spicy hints and a slight mineral touch of wet rock and graphite. On the palate it is clear, delicate, crystalline, and clean, characterized by great mineral freshness and a long, persistent finish.
