On the nose, there is a note of very ripe apple, a sensation reminiscent of chamomile herbal tea, mineral hints, and lime. On the palate, it is dense and soft, fresh, savory, and slightly herbal.
The Riesling by Marcel Deiss is an Alsatian white produced with the most famous and noble grape variety of Northern Europe. Riesling is one of the most widely cultivated varieties in this French region bordering Germany, where it expresses itself with great fruit fullness and aromatic richness. Vinified in purity and using only steel, it is a wine with a strong character, expressing the best varietal characteristics of the grape, combined with those of a terroir capable of giving the wines a refined elegance and a recognizable mineral connotation.
The Riesling wine by Marcel Deiss originates from the estate in Bergheim, a small locality located in the wine-growing heart of Alsace, just a few kilometers from the center of Ribeauvillè. The property extends over a total area of 27 hectares, located in 9 municipalities of the region and divided into 220 micro-parcels. Each small plot has been chosen for its particular pedoclimatic characteristics and is cultivated with the variety most suited to the place. From an agronomic point of view, the vineyards are managed according to the principles of biodynamics, with the utmost respect for the environment and with the intention of producing wines that are the direct expression of the fortunate grape-territory combination. The Riesling is produced with grapes from vineyards that are over 25 years old and are planted in soils with a rather heterogeneous composition, including granite, limestone marls, and the presence of sand and gravel. The grapes are pressed whole cluster and the must is fermented with indigenous yeasts and spontaneously in steel tanks. The wine rests in steel on the fine lees for at least 12 months before being bottled
The white Riesling produced in Alsace by Marcel Deiss is a fresh and fruity wine, already very pleasant to drink young, but it also has a good aging potential. A version of Riesling that focuses heavily on the enhancement of the primary characteristics of the grape and the indisputable quality of the raw material. It presents itself with a bright straw yellow color. The aromatic profile offers intense aromas of citrus, apple, white fruit, and hints of chamomile. On the palate, it expresses rich and juicy fruit and a savory finish with beautiful citrus notes.
