The Rum "Grande Reserve" is made from a double aging, the first in the Caribbean in Bourbon barrels and the second in France in small Cognac barrels. The result is an elegant, intense and decidedly soft profile, with notes of coconut and vanilla, brought by the Caribbean barrels, and refined aromas of spices and noble woods, conferred by the passage in ex-Cognac barrels

The "Grande Réserve" Rum is one of the most famous labels of the Planteray brand: a spirit characterized by fruity freshness and rich, intense aromas, in the best tradition of Barbados. Thanks to a meticulous wood maturation process, it expresses a complex charm and a remarkable taste persistence. In this land, sugar cane cultivation began in the early decades of the 1600s, and soon the island's spirits became famous for their quality, becoming favorites among English sailors. Even today, the culture of Rum defines the character of the Caribbean island, representing an excellence of absolute level.

The "Grande Réserve" Planteray is a Rum of great charm and a piece of Caribbean history. The island of Barbados, with its characteristic landscape marked by old windmills, recalls a past where sugar cane production and the extraction of the precious juice were the main activities. The tradition linked to the production of great spirits has spanned the centuries and has reached the present day. Despite the decline of the Caribbean sugar industry, Barbados remains a reference point for all lovers of great rums.Barbados remains a reference point for all lovers of great rums. At the base of the spirits is a high-quality molasses that is particularly rich in aromas. After a fermentation of 3 or 4 days, distillation takes place in column stills and traditional Pot Stills. The rum matures for a period ranging from 1 to 3 years in barrels previously used for Bourbon in the tropical climate of the Caribbean and completes its refinement in France, at the Pierre Ferrand distillery, with a one-year rest in French oak barrels used for aging Cognac.

The "Grande Réserve" Planteray Rum is the perfect expression of the Barbados terroir and a centuries-old tradition based on a style that is aromatically very rich, dense, and enveloping. It appears light amber with bright golden reflections. Intense and fresh, it opens on the nose with scents of ripe tropical fruit, yellow peach, apricot, coconut, vanilla, soft oriental spices, hints of orange peel, and candied fruit. On the palate, it captivates with particularly elegant and enveloping aromas, with a wide paletteof fruity harmonious sweetness, crossed by pleasant spicy sensations. The sip is seductive, long, and complex, with a very persistent finish.
