'Ruschena' Cascina Tavijn
ArtisanalThe Ruschena is an intense and articulated red wine with a deep, untamable and pleasantly wild personality. It springs intense perfumes of citrus zest, ripe red fruits and aromatic herbs. The taste is dynamic, dry, rich and persistent
The “Ruschena” is a wild expression rich in character made by Cascina Tavijin, a dynamic reality of the Monferrato territory. It is a intense wine, with a marked and recognizable character, composed and eloquent. It stems from a long history, rooted in the early 1900s, when wine was produced for family and everyday consumption at the current Cascina Tavijn. This strong attachment to the land and to everyday life has remained alive to this day and is the driving force behind Nadia Verrua's work, which begins already in the vineyard. Great expressiveness is given to the vineyard, worked according to a system of sustainable agriculture. The natural soul of the grapes is reflected in the straightforwardness of the glass, a direct link between Monferrato and the consumer.
Cascina Tavijn “Ruschena” is obtained from red grapes coming from vines at least 20 years old, nourished by sandy soils rich in sandstone. Specifically, these vineyards are located at an altitude of about 260 meters above sea level. In following the harvest, the bunches are pressed and the obtained must is placed to ferment in steel tanks. Here, the alcoholic fermentation starts spontaneously from indigenous yeasts.
The Ruchè “Ruschena” presents a bright ruby red color. Its aroma is characterized by intensely fruity and floral notes, citrus and aromatic herbs. The earthy and wild character reveals itself especially in the tasting. The body is full yet lively, marked by freshness and dry tannins. A composed sip of great finesse.
