Sake Yuzu "Kodakara" is a fresh and pungent Sake of Tatenokawa sakagura, in Yamagata Prefecture. Product derived from the fermentation of rice with the addition of Yuzo juice, a type of citrus native to Japan, present in particular in the southern islands. Recommended to drink cold, has strong aromas of citron, bergamot and grapefruit

The Yuzu Sake "Kodakara" is produced by a historic Japanese sakagura. Tatenokawa is located in the Yamagata prefecture. Its origins date back to 1832, when the head of the Uesugi clan visited these lands and, struck by the abundance of water springs in the area, encouraged the production of Sake. In 1854, the Heishiro family began to engage in the making of the famous fermented beverage, which still sees the light today thanks to the most ancient artisanal traditions, carefully preserved within the company. The Yuzu Sake is a fresh, fruity, and citrusy version that enhances the extraordinary qualities of this ancient Japanese citrus fruit.

The "Kodakara" from Tatenokawa is a Yuzu Sake characterized by an immediate drinkability. The starting base is a traditional Sake, produced with sakamai rice, which is polished to remove the outer layer and retain only the starch. But the main ingredient of this Sake, the true protagonist of the tasting experience, is Yuzu, a a typical citrus fruit of Japan, which possesses a remarkable richness of aromas. It has been cultivated for millennia and seems to derive from a cross between a wild mandarin and a citrus plant similar to lemon. It is characterized by a thick skin, a pulp rich in seeds, and little juice. However, its aromatic concentration is exceptional.

The Yuzu Sake "Kodakara", made by Tatenokawa, represents a summer and refreshing version of classic Sake. Its secret is all contained in the precious shell of the citrus, a true source of intense and intoxicating fragrances. The Sake has a deep yellow color with orange reflections and a hazy appearance. On the nose, it offers aromas dominated by the typical citrus note of mandarin and lemon peels. On the palate, it expresses the sweetness of the fruit, well balanced by a citrus freshness, leading to a persistent, aromatic, and slightly bitter finish. It is an excellent thirst quencher to be enjoyed chilled, neat, or with ice, but it can also be used in modern mixology to create original-tasting cocktails.
