Valtellina Superiroe Sassella "Sommarovina" by Mamete Prevostini is an elegant Valtellina red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes, locally called Chiavennasca, which is presented with an intense ruby red color, with garnet nuances. It expresses hints of hibiscus and rose on the nose, with details of berries and balsamic and spicy nuances, while the taste is austere and full bodied, of great balance and elegance that ends in an aromatic finish of liquorice and almonds

The red “Sommarovina” is a Valtellina Superiore Sassella with great potential, capable of being uncorked even after more than five years. It is well known that one of the main characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape is its longevity, which is also found in this product signed by Mamete Prevostini, where aromas and flavors are clear and incisive while maintaining a constant underlying elegance, enhanced by the excellent coherence between taste and smell. A bottle that effortlessly conquers the palate of red wine enthusiasts.

This Valtellina Superiore Sassella “Sommarovina” Mamete Prevostini originates from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the guyot form within a single vineyard, a true cru particularly suited for its cultivation. The area is indeed entirely south-facing, at about 400 meters above sea level, on a soil mainly composed of sand with a small component of silt. The harvest begins after the first decade of October, and the must ferments in stainless steel tanks, macerating on the skins for 15 days. The subsequent aging lasts for 10 months and takes place in oak barrels.

The “Sommarovina” Valtellina Superiore Sassella signed by the Mamete Prevostini winery presents itself to the eye with a concentrated ruby red color, crossed by flashes that shift towards a garnet hue. The array of aromas that spreads to the nose opens with floral notes, enriched by more fruity touches and spicy, balsamic effluvia. On the palate, it enters with a structured, at times austere sip, possessing good balance and an aromatic finish. A label among the best in the entire range produced by the winery in Mese, perfect for deepening the understanding of Nebbiolo grown within the Valtellinese terroir.
