The Saumur Champigny from the Chateau Yvonne winery is a red wine based on Cabernet Franc with an elegant profile. The grapes are hand-picked, and after a long alcoholic fermentation of 4 weeks using indigenous yeasts, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months. With a nose fragrant with aromas of small red and black fruits, herbaceous notes, and sweet spicy hints of licorice, it pairs well with game dishes.

The Saumur Champigny from Château Yvonne is a wine originating from the village of Parnay in the Loire Valley, a place that has been known for centuries as one of the best for grape cultivation. The winery was founded in 1997 by Yvonne and Jean-François Lamunière along with winemaker Françoise Foucault; over time, the holdings have been expanded to about 11 hectares in total. In 2020, the plot of land dedicated to Cabernet Franc was replaced with a graft of Pineau d’Aunis, and recently 4 hectares of vineyard have been recovered at Clos de la Pouge, a magnificent plot of land planted in 1947. Today, the winery has 16 hectares of holdings that extend within the Saumur Champigny denomination.

The Cabernet Franc grapes of the Saumur Champigny from Château Yvonne have been cultivated in organic farming since the year of the winery's foundation. The soil on which the vineyards are grown is composed of limestone and tuff that acts as a sponge, providing the vine with the necessary water for fullripening; more on the surface there is a presence of clay and sand. The climate is oceanic with mild temperatures in winter and not excessively hot in summer. The harvest is conducted manually with extreme attention to all the details necessary for an excellent outcome; it follows a fermentation with indigenous yeasts for 4 weeks and a brief malolactic fermentation. It ages for 12 months in French oak barrels.

The Saumur Champigny from Château Yvonne presents itself in the glass with a ruby red color with intense reflections. On the nose, it releases an intense bouquet of red and black fruits, herbal notes, and a spicy finish of licorice; on the palate, it has a elegant and refined structure with a persistent finish that invites drinking. It pairs perfectly with grilled or stewed red meats, game, and first courses with vegetarian side dishes. This wine is perfectly suited to accompany formal occasions, but it also proves excellent on the family holiday table. A product that encapsulates all the power of a territory and the skill in the vineyard of those who dedicate themselves every dayto production.
