A product that celebrates the history of Mexican culture, perfect to accompany distinctive cocktails
The Tequila Reposado from the Mexican brand Espolón is a tequila of remarkable quality characterized by sweet aromas of tropical fruit and vanilla. The Espolón brand was founded in 1995 in the state of Jalisco from the meeting between Cirilo and a Mexican entrepreneur. Cirilo convinced the entrepreneur of his project to create high-level tequila capable of going beyond traditions while remaining connected to them. Thus, in 1996, the Casa San Nicolás distillery was built in Los Altos de Jalisco, where Espolón distillates take shape. The belief of the maestro tequilero Cirilo, who passed away in 2020, is that sound stimulates the yeasts during the fermentation process, which is why the alcoholic fermentation of the agave juice at Casa San Nicolás is always accompanied by classical music compositions.
For the production of Tequila Reposado Espolón, pure Blue Weber agave grown in the heights of the state of Jalisco is used. Once full maturity is reached, the plant is cut, and the sugary core, called “piña”, which is then cooked in stainless steel autoclaves. The cooking process is followed by the mechanical processing of the piña, aimed at extracting the sugary juice contained within. This is followed by the alcoholic fermentation of the juice accompanied by classical music pieces and then the distillation of the fermented product in traditional pot and column stills. The distillate is finally aged in new American oak barrels for at least 2 months before final bottling.
Espolón Tequila Reposado is characterized by a bright golden yellow color. On the nose, sweet sensations of exotic fruit, vanilla, and caramel are perceived, meeting notes of roasted agave. The body is full on the palate, where soft spice perceptions accompany the rich and enveloping taste finish.
