Vermouth Rosso Del Professore - 75cl

The Vermouth Rosso Del Professore is the latest gem produced by the Antica Distilleria Quaglia, a reality from Castelnuovo Don Bosco – we are located not far from Turin – that embodies the most artisanal traditions regarding the art of distillation. A bottle with a full and delicate profile, which thanks to the slight tannic profile acquired during the months of aging unfolds with personality in the mouth, highlighting a bouquet that recalls the ancient pharmaceutical blends of the past.  A label that proudly tells the distillery's desire to bring Vermouth back to an important role in the wide panorama of spirits.  

This Vermouth Rosso has a great peculiarity: it is in fact the only Vermouth in the world that is created from both whites and reds, obviously 100% made from Italian grapes. In this base, after adding pure alcohol, distillation is carried out, followed by the infusion of local spices and botanicals. The sugar added during this phase is cane, of muscovado type, characterized by a high degree of purity. Once the Vermouth is obtained, it is allowed to rest for 6 months in oak barrels, during which it enriches itself with the warm and enveloping aromas typical of wood.

The Vermouth Rosso Del Professore presents itself to the eye with a dark red color, crossed by some slightly orange-tinted reflections, especially visible at the rim. The aromas that surround the nostrils move with a warm and embracing fan, in which balsamic and menthol notes can be traced, enriched by more fruity and bitter hints. On the palate, it has excellent body, round, with a slightly accentuated tannic structure and a taste that evokes a hint of rhubarb. A very interesting label, perfect for making the aperitif hour special.
