The 16 Year Old Single Malt Whisky, produced by Aberfeldy Distillery, is a label that offers the pleasure of a tasting experience characterized by smoothness, malty sweetness, and fruitiness. It is a great distillate, perfectly representing the classic style of the great Single Malts from the Highlands, rich, complex, but devoid of the typically smoky and peaty notes that characterize Whiskies made in the Hebrides. A style that is always satisfying, made even more seductive by a long aging in carefully selected noble woods, which contributes to enriching its bouquet with refined hints of tertiary evolution.
The 16 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is born in the central area of the Scottish Highlands. The Aberfeldy distillery was founded at the end of the 19th century and has always represented one of the most important production realities in the area. Its success is due to a selection of excellent malt and the possibility of using the purest water rich in minerals from the Pitlie Burn stream. To the ingredients of high quality, a traditional production process is added, carried out according to the oldest artisanal customs, jealously preserved as a precious company treasure. The classic sweetness that characterizes all Aberfeldy Single Malts is due to a long and patient fermentation, which allows the sweet honeyed notes to come to the fore, giving a particular nuance to the distillates. The smoothness is then enhanced by a 16-year aging in barrels previously used for Bourbon aging and the fragrant fortified wines of Jerez.
The 16 Year Old Aberfeldy Single Malt Whisky is particularly loved by enthusiasts loyal to the classic taste of a sweet, smooth, and enveloping distillate, perfect to enjoy neat, with ice, or paired with very bitter dark chocolate. It presents itself with an amber color with bright golden reflections. The olfactory profile is characterized by aromas of ripe yellow fruit, honeyed notes, candied bitter orange peel, hints of cloves, soft Eastern spices and woody memories. Warm and intense, it offers a rich, broad sip, with complex and seductive aromas, leading to a harmonious and very persistent finish.
