The White "Prunecchio" from the Tuscan winery Fattoria di Sammontana is a tasty and fresh label with an excellent quality-price ratio, perfect for a lunch with friends. It is made with a blend of Sauvignon, Trebbiano Toscano, and Malvasia bianca grapes harvested by hand and vinified using only indigenous yeasts. The pale straw yellow color introduces aromas of yellow-fleshed fruit and a sip of excellent balance.

"Prunecchio" is an ancient estate located in the Montelupo Fiorentino area to which Fattoria di Sammontana dedicates the label of this white wine, vinifying the grapes harvested from the adjacent vineyard. The cultural and environmental context in which the winery is situated represents one of those hidden excellences so emblematic of the Italian landscape, expressed here through the story of 8 centuries of history.

Fattoria di Sammontana creates "Prunecchio" through a blend of white grape varieties traditionally found in the Tuscan territory: Trebbiano brings saline tension and mineral depth, Malvasia is decisive for the aromatic push, a character it shares in small part with Sauvignon Blanc, which stands out for its freshness and consistency. The three varieties come from a small plot of land extending over 1.5 hectares, with an average planting age of around 30 years and a density of about 3,500 vines per hectare, cultivated according to the rules of organic farming and biodynamic principles, implemented since 2012. The harvest is carried out manually and the yields are extremely limited, settling around 30 hectoliters per hectare. In the winery, soft pressing is followed by spontaneous fermentation carried out by indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The aging also takes place in steel, for several months on the fine lees.

The White "Prunecchio" by Fattoria Sammontana offers the bright view of a straw yellow color with lively reflections. The aromas are intense, and the nose is particularly vibrant, marked by yellow fruits with some tropical accents and nuances that speak of open fields and wildflowers. Great coherence on the palate, with the mouth encountering a bold and balanced wine, very fresh and of good consistency, well persistent along a finely mineral trail. The balance of the composition makes the tasting particularly enjoyable and suggests pairings for a rich aperitif, with vegetarian or fish finger foods, but also platters of fresh and medium-aged cheeses.
