The Cabernet Franc from La Tunella is a Friulian red wine that reflects the typical varietal profile of the grape grown in these lands. In fact, it is rich in herbaceous, balsamic and fruity components, with slight toasted accents. The sip shows freshness, body and personality, accompanied by fruity memories

The Cabernet Franc signed by La Tunella is a typical expression of the Colli Orientali del Friuli territory, where the winery is located. This is an area that is vocated for vine cultivation, a tradition gathered and maintained by La Tunella, now in its third generation of winemakers. The desire of Massimo and Marco, the current owners of the winery, is to offer a wide range of bottles in accordance with the potential of the land and the territory, where even international grape varieties have found a cradle to express themselves at their best. Thus, alongside the indigenous varieties Schioppettino, Refosco, Ribolla Gialla, and Friulano, we also find Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc.

The La Tunella Cabernet Franc is made from grapes of the same variety. The terraced vineyards rise on a unique soil, where layers of marl and sandstone alternate, the so-called "ponca" in Friulano. The harvest takes place around the last week of September, when the grapes are picked at the best degree of both phenolic and sugary ripeness. The must is left ferment and macerate with the skins in steel tanks, with frequent pump-overs. After various racking and after undergoing malolactic fermentation, at the end of fermentation the wine is placed by gravity into 25hl French oak barrels, in the underground barrel cellar, for 4/6 months. It is finally bottled in February.

The red wine Cabernet Franc from La Tunella appears to the eye as an intense bright ruby. The olfactory analysis denotes a rather wide range of aromas, from berries, especially blackberry and blackcurrant, to vegetal and herbaceous notes, a trademark of Cabernet Franc. There is also a hint of toasting derived from aging in wood. Tasting it, we find the fruity notes that have emerged on the nose, along with a sensation of pleasantness. It is endowed with personality and a good body, perfect traits to accompany red meats and aged cheeses.
