'Calabrise' Ippolito 1845 2024
Ippolito 1845's 'Calabrise' comes from Calabrese, the local name for Nero d'Avola, a grape variety so deeply rooted in the area that it has been given a truly symbolic name. After a long maceration, the wine is aged in steel only to maintain its fruity profile to the maximum. Dark in the glass as well as on the nose, it brings aromas of plum, black cherry and black pepper. On the palate, it is fresh, pulpy and round with soft, caressing tannins. Ideal with flavourful first courses, such as ‘fileja alla tropeana’
