The first Special Cuvée was produced in 1911 at the suggestion of an English agent of the Bollinger family and has never stopped being produced since, becoming the great representative of the entire line. It is precisely the long tradition combined with modernization, great passion, and the great potential of the French terroir that creates an exclusive recipe that is passed down from year to year, from generation to generation, and that gives rise to unique bottles and reference models for all sparkling wines in the world.
The Special Cuvée Champagne Brut is the result of a delicate blending of a small percentage of freshly harvested grapes and reserve wines, among which those aged in bottle for more than 15 years in the cellar stand out. These are the characteristics that make the cuvée “special,” along with the raw materials that involve the use of all three characteristic grape varieties of Champagne cultivated in the most prestigious crus.
