Artisanal"Les Monts de Boncourt" is a rich and complex Chardonnay with a clear Burgundian matrix. Made from whole clusters and aged in oak barrels, partly new and partly used. The stones of the dry stone walls surrounding the vineyard release the heat absorbed during the day at night, thus giving rise to perfectly healthy clusters and allowing the creation of a juice with an intense, fresh, mineral, and herbal profile.
The Chardonnay “Les Monts de Boncourt” from Domaine de Bellene is a classic Côte de Nuits-Villages, which well represents the style and high quality level that has distinguished the great whites of Burgundy for centuries. It is a wine with a elegant profile, rich in tasting facets, which enhance its aromatic complexity. Despite the traditional aging in wood, this white retains the proverbial and vibrant mineral freshness of Burgundian Chardonnays, a characteristic that makes them unique in the world.
“Les Monts de Boncourt” is a pure Chardonnay produced by Domaine de Bellene, which is located in the territory of the municipality of Beaune, in the heart of the famous Côte d’Or. The wine comes from a small parcel particularly suited that is located about 250 meters above sea level, with a splendid south-east, east exposure. The vines have an average age of about 20 years and have been planted on a clay-limestone soil, with the very high density of 10,000 vines per hectare. Once the harvest is completed, the process continues with the soft pressing of the grapes and fermentation in 600-liter French oak barrels. The wine matures for a period of at least 10 months in oak barrels, with 30% new, and finishes the aging process with 6 months in bottle before being put on sale.
The Chardonnay “Les Monts de Boncourt” from Domaine de Bellene is a white wine that, like the tradition of the best labels from Burgundy, manages to combine complexity, aromatic richness, and freshness. In the glass, it presents itself with a light straw yellow color with golden hues. The bouquet recalls the scents of white flowers, herbal notes, crunchy fruit, mineral hints, and slight woody sensations. On the palate, it has a good structure, a lively and tense sip, which extends towards a finish of great freshness and persistence.
