The Ciliegiolo from Sequerciani is a fresh, pleasant, and straightforward red wine, perfect for pairing with flavorful dishes from the Maremma tradition. Notes of red fruits, pleasant earthy nuances, marine hints, and light Mediterranean accents emerge from a lively, agile, and fruity structure, with pleasant tannins.

The Ciliegiolo from Sequerciani is an artisan wine produced in the wonderful hilly inland of Maremma Toscana. It is made from the grapes of the homonymous indigenous variety, an ancient Tuscan grape, genetically linked to Sangiovese. It is a pleasantly fragrant and fruity red, with a youthful face and a smooth, agile sip. It expresses mainly aromas of ripe cherry, red fruit, and delicate hints of aromatic herbs. Its simplicity and expressive immediacy make it particularly suitable for pairing with the flavorful first courses of Tuscan tradition.

The Ciliegiolo wine is a specialty of the regions of central Italy. The Sequerciani winery produces an interesting version with great tasting pleasure. The estate is located in the inland area of Follonica, on the gentle slopes of the Maremma hills and is managed according to the principles of organic and biodynamic farming. The Ciliegiolo vineyards are cultivated at about 200 meters above sea level, in an untouched natural context. The soil suited and a perfect climate for ripening red grape varieties ensure the production of high-quality grapes. The rest of the work is carried out only by following the natural transformation of the must wine, with minimal human intervention.

The Ciliegilo Sequerciani is a wine that evokes the oldest traditions and the good wine of the past, made simply and without enological mediation. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks, using only indigenous yeasts. Before bottling, with a very low use of sulfur, the wine rests for several months in cement tanks. In the glass, the Ciliegiolo presents itself with an intense red color and youthful violet reflections. The aromas mainly recall small red berry fruits, cherry, sour cherry, sensations related to the underbrush and aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a fine tannic texture, a pleasantly crunchy and expressive fruit and a finish of good freshness. A label to rediscover a grape variety too often forgotten.
