The Franciacorta Rosé Brut “Mariella” by Contadi Castaldi is a Vintage Classic Method of great elegance and expressive richness. Made with a majority of Pinot Noir, complemented by a small percentage of Chardonnay, it is vinified partly in steel and partly in wood. The long aging period on the lees gives a particularly intense and complex bouquet, characterized by floral scents, aromas of small red fruits, well balanced by a clear vein of freshness. It is a Franciacorta with a gastronomic face, very suitable for accompanying important fish or white meat menus throughout the meal.
The Vintage Rosé "Mariella" is a Franciacorta of great charm, produced by a winery that has quickly established a prominent place in the Franciacorta landscape. The project of the Cantina Contadi Castaldi came to life in 1991, thanks to the desire of Vittorio Moretti to create a new brand alongside the historic one of Bellavista. Contadi Castaldi has immediately distinguished itself for the production of Franciacorta with great personality, focusing heavily on quality labels, capable of expressing the potential of the territory. From this desire for excellence arises a prestigious label like the Rosé Mariella, which is positioned in the high range of Franciacorta production. The grapes of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay come from vineyards that have an average age of about 25 years and are cultivated in the best parcels of the estate.
The Rosé Brut “Mariella” from the Cantina Contadi Castaldi is a Franciacorta of particular value. At the end of the harvest, the grapes of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are pressed very gently, and only the free-run must is sent for fermentation in steel tanks for about three weeks. Before the creation of the cuvée, the base wines mature for about 7 months in steel and wood. The second fermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Classic Method, with a stay on the lees for at least 66 months. In the glass, it presents an intense pink color, crossed by a very fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it offers aromas of currants, raspberries, and small berries, with citrus notes and floral nuances. On the palate, it shows an important structure, with a creamy and rich mid-palate, creamy and rich, which extends harmoniously towards a finish of great taste balance, characterized by a clear savory vein.
