Insoglio del Cinghiale Campo di Sasso - Tenuta di Biserno Magnum 2023
L’Insoglio del Cinghiale is a red wine that expresses the untamed soul of Maremma and pairs perfectly with typical Tuscan dishes. It has an intense and meaty aromatic profile, marked by notes of underbrush, black pepper, blueberries, and balsamic herbs. On the palate, it is soft, fresh, and elegant, with well-polished tannic texture.
The Tuscan wine Insoglio del Cinghiale Campo di Sasso, here in Magnum format, is the milestone of the entire production made by Tenuta di Biserno, a reality founded in 2001 by Marchese Lodovico Antinori, eager to invest in the terroir of Alta Maremma. A juicy and mature label, originating from a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, expertly assembled to provide a balanced and high-quality sip, particularly fresh on the palate. The tannin is also striking, finely polished and round.
This Insoglio del Cinghiale Campo di Sasso Magnum is born from a blend of only international grape varieties, varieties that over the last few decades have proven to perfectly adapt to the terroir of Maremma Toscana. Alongside 30% Syrah, we also find Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, varieties that are cultivated by Tenuta di Biserno using the spurred cordon system. The harvest takes place between the first week of September and the second of October. After the soft pressing of the grapes, the must ferments in steel at a controlled temperature for a period of 14-21 days. It is then followed by aging, carried out for 8 months in both new barriques and steel tanks.
The red Insoglio del Cinghiale Campo di Sasso made by the Tenuta di Biserno winery in Magnum format presents itself to the eye with an intense hue, reminiscent of ruby. The nose is fleshy, where notes of small red fruits alternate with spicy sensations and hints of aromatic herbs; in the finish, a delicate aroma is perceived that leans towards the balsamic. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, balanced, with a sip that impresses with its excellent vein that refreshes the drink. The flagship wine of the entire range produced in Bibbona, perfect for pairing with succulent game dishes.
