"La Bovila" from the Bodega Teo Legido winery in the region of Castile and Leon is a red wine that goes in search of harmony and balance. The Tempranillo, Syrah and Verdejo grapes undergo spontaneous fermentation by means of indigenous yeasts. An intense cherry red robe with an excellent minerality and persistence with fruit aromas of violet and liquorice notes

Bodega Teo Legido presents ‘La Bovila’, a handcrafted interpretation with a strong and pure character, born from a blend of Tempranillo and Syrah with a small percentage of the white grape variety Verdejo added. The La Bovila vineyard is located within the small municipality of Moraleja de Matacabras, in the province of Avila. It is a historic plot dedicated to viticulture since at least 1751, although it probably existed already in the Middle Ages. However, in the 1960s the plants were uprooted and only in 2005 were Tempranillo, Syrah, and Verdejo replanted, covering a total area of less than one hectare.

‘La Bovila’ Bodega Teo Legido consists of an unusual blend of Tempranillo (50%), Syrah (40%), and Verdejo (10%), planted at 800 meters above sea level on clay-sandy soils rich in flint, quartzites, and gneiss. The agronomic management follows the principles of certified organic and biodynamic agriculture. Once ripe, the grapes are harvested and crushed 50% whole, with alcoholic fermentation carried out solely by indigenous yeasts. After the complete malolactic fermentation, the mass is transferred to French oak barrels where it ages for 12 months.

To the eye, the Spanish red wine ‘La Bovila’ by Bodega Teo Legido shows a cherry red color. The nose is a succession of aromas of plum, blackberry, violet, licorice, aromatic herbs, and sweet spices. On the palate, it is intense and structured, characterized by pleasant freshness, fine tannins, and excellent mineral persistence. A bottle that pairs well with various meat preparations, cooked roasted, stewed, or grilled.
