The red wine Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva “Iskra” Masciarelli is a product where character and personality abound. You can immediately notice it on the nose, where different sensations flood the nostrils, and on the palate, where the sip is broad and decidedly captivating, creating a perfect drink for land menus, where meat is the protagonist. A bottle that can, over the next five years, have a beautiful organoleptic evolution: the choice to drink it now or to let it rest further is up to you, but in both cases satisfaction will be guaranteed.
The “Iskra” Masciarelli is a Montepulciano d’Abruzzo Riserva whose grapes grow in the surroundings of the Abruzzo hills located in the municipality of Controguerra. We find ourselves in parcels positioned between Gran Sasso and the Adriatic Sea, at an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level, and the training method chosen for the Montepulciano vines is that of simple guyot. After crushing the grapes, the must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. We then proceed with the aging phase, in which the wine first rests for 12 months in oak barriques and then, after bottling and before being released on the market, for another 24 months directly in glass.
The Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Riserva “Iskra” Masciarelli presents itself to the visual examination with a dark and impenetrable color, shifting between ruby and shades of purple. The nose is deep, accompanied by layered notes that start from fruit, expressed in different nuances, reaching up to aromatic herbs and light hints of leather and licorice. On the palate, it has excellent thickness, with a vital and energetic sip, which absorbs the drink with a fresh and composed sip. Structured and elegant, it is part of the Marina Cvetic line of the winery, a guarantee of reliability for the most demanding and sophisticated palates.
