The Langhe Nebbiolo by Bajaj is characterized as a dynamic and accessible red wine designed for everyday use. In fact, although Nebbiolo is often associated exclusively with structured and austere wines like Barolo, when properly cultivated and processed, this noble grape variety is also capable of producing expressions that are easier to appreciate. This belief has guided the Moretti family, owners of the Bajaj estate, in creating this Langhe Nebbiolo, produced in respect of nature's balances.
Bajaj Langhe Nebbiolo comes from only grapes of the same black berry variety grown within the municipality of Monteu Roero, precisely in the Gaiuccio plot, where the soil is predominantly composed of white sand and limestone. The viticulture adopted by the Moretti family is based on the principles of guided struggle. In the winery, the bunches are first destemmed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature, initiated with a pied de cuve. During the maceration on the skins a délestage is performed followed by frequent pump-overs and punch downs. The subsequent maturation phase, which lasts for a few months, takes place between exhausted oak barriques and steel and precedes the blending and final bottling.
The Langhe Nebbiolo Bajaj has a light ruby red color. The nose offers delicate hints of red fruits like cherry and wild strawberry that combine with floral aromas and slight spicy notes. Fresh and juicy on the palate, with soft tannins and a long fruity persistence. This is a Nebbiolo designed to be enjoyable right from its market release, also possessing excellent aging potential.
