The Rosé  "Purple Rosé" from Castello di Ama is a light and pleasant Tuscan wine, characterized by aromatic fruity notes of wild strawberries, cherries and small red fruits. The palate is fresh, dry, savory and mineral, with good balance

The Rosato by Castello di Ama is a great example of how a rose wine will be able to establish itself as a national wine reference; and the reason is obvious since the Rosato does not arise simply from saignée of grapes used to produce the Chianti "Castello di Ama" and looks more like a young red wine. We are on a small village, Ama, place on the Tuscan hills, almost 500 meters above the sea level; here is centuries that viticulture is reality and offering gorgeous landscapes. Rows that are lost in a horizon where the rolling hills and vast valleys are confused. The vineyards from which it takes the life of the Rosato by Castello di Ama were implanted partly in 1978 and partly in 1990; here Sangiovese and Merlot, in different percentages depending on the year, are harvested separately to extract the best features of each grape. After fermentation for 12 hours in contact with the skins, the must is fermented in white and 50% malolactic fermentation takes place; after a few months of additional steel, the Rosato by Castello di Ama is bottled. The result is a rosé Tuscan clearly and decided, that shows a bouquet where the fruity notes of cherry and wild strawberry give sensations sweet and delicate; the palate is light and fresh, but does not lose the structural characteristics of the grape from which it comes. That of Castello di Ama is a Rosato very pleasant...
