Rainbow Juice' Gentle Folk 2022

The Australian winery Gentle Folk presents the ‘Rainbow Juice’, a unique and refined expression derived from an unusual blend of black and white grape varieties. In the Adelaide Hills wine region, in South Australia, this family-run production reality cultivates about 8 hectares of organic vineyards, also using biodynamic preparations. In a context of great biodiversity, made up of forests and rivers, spontaneous and genuine wines are born, like the ‘Rainbow Juice’, an original label, halfway between a red wine and a rosé, ideal for bringing liveliness to beach picnics, as suggested by the producers themselves.

Gentle Folk ‘Rainbow Juice’ is made from an unusual assembly of Pinot Grigio, Gewürztraminer, Syrah, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, all grown organically. The first two varieties are harvested and fermented together spontaneously, with 6 days of skin contact, followed by maturation in steel tanks. Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc are also fermented with skin contact for about a week, before pressing and transferring to 500-liter oak barrels. After a few months of aging, the masses are finally assembled, with the addition of a small percentage of Syrah. Throughout the entire process, the liquid undergoes no clarification or filtration.

The ‘Rainbow Juice’ by Gentle Folk has a pale red hue tending towards rosé. Delicate and light on the nose, with notes of rose petals meeting perceptions of red fruit and mineral hints. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, agile and juicy, with a pleasant mineral finish. An atypical bottle capable of offering a taste of the eccentric and cheerful style of the New World.
