The Ribolla Gialla “Krasno” from the Klet Brda winery is the symbolic label of the lands and history of Goriška Brda. At its core, there is a white grape variety that has been present in this wonderful Slovenian region for centuries. Its origins are very ancient, and it has found its ideal habitat on these hills to produce grapes of excellent quality. The vinification in wood gives the wine structure and complexity, creating a white intense, rich, and pleasantly harmonious. A true ambassador of Slovenian territory around the world.
The “Krasno” Ribolla Gialla wine from Klet Brda is the offspring of a land always dedicated to viticulture. The climate of Goriška Brda is indeed mild and temperate, thanks to the presence of the Julian Prealps that protect the area from disturbances coming from the north and the influence of the gentle breezes that rise inland from the Adriatic coast. The Ribolla Gialla vines are aged between 15 and 40 years and are located in the highest hilly areas, between 150 and 250 meters above sea level.at sea level, with an east-southeast orientation. The poor and stony soils, composed of limestone marls and sandstone, naturally limit yields so that the grape variety, generally very generous, produces fewer bunches, but with concentrated and rich aromas. The grapes are hand-harvested and the bunches are gently pressed. The must ferments in large oak barrels and ages in wood for about a year, partially undergoing malolactic fermentation.
The white Ribolla Gialla "Krasno", made by Klet Brda, is the most classic bottle of the territory. The typical wine of the region, always present on Slovenian tables, pairs very well with numerous traditional cuisine dishes, particularly with vegetable-based dishes and fish second courses. Although it is already pleasant to taste when young, it has a aging potential of at least 7-8 years. It presents a beautiful intense yellow color with bright golden reflections. On the nose, it offers notes of citrus zest, lime, cedar, mandarin, aromas of ripe white-fleshed fruit, apple, peach, yellow melon, hints of vanilla, white spices, and herbal notes. The taste is pleasantly fruity and marked by a clear mineral freshness, leading to a savory finish.
