Rare wines"De Veo" by Paolo Bea is a fascinating red wine obteining from youg vinerads. Aged in steel vats, oak casks and in bottle for 30 months. Complex nose, dark fruits hints, balsamic notes, spicy and mineral. Round on the palate with dynamic notes of sapidity, juicy and tannins.
The Rosso “De Veo” by Paolo Bea is an expression of the Umbrian territory of great typicity and pleasantness. With its blend of red grape varieties, it summarizes and embodies the different facets that define the wonderful central area of the Boot. It has a very particular expressive capacity, which comes from the soil itself and the surrounding environment with which it is in perfect balance. The modus operandi of the Paolo Bea winery is indeed aimed at enhancing the ecosystem and the natural interactions that define it. Work is done, both in the field and in the cellar, according to a biological and biodynamic method that proves to be the winning card in enhancing the grape variety and its varietal and territorial typicity.
“De Veo” is obtained from three different grape varieties: Sagrantino, Sangiovese, and Montepulciano, contributing respectively 65%, 25%, and 10%. They come from vineyards located at an altitude of 400-430 meters above sea level, near the locations of San Valentino,Pagliaro and Cerrete. The soils are predominantly clayey and silty, layered alternately with river pebbles. Following the manual harvest, the bunches are transported to the winery, where during pressing the separation of the skins from the stems occurs. A maceration of 36 days precedes the maturation phase, which consists of a period of 20 months in stainless steel containers, 10 months following in large wooden barrels of 20 quintals, and finally 30 months of aging in the bottle.
Paolo Bea "De Veo" is a red wine with a deep ruby color. Its aroma recalls dark fruits and spices, with animal notes of leather and hide. On the palate, it presents a soft and full body, marked by sapidity and a smooth tannin. What fascinates the nose is confirmed on the palate, defining the complete profile of a complex wine capable of evoking emotions.
