Rosso 'Grottaia' Caccia al Piano 2023
The Rosso Grottaia Caccia al Piano is a red wine made from Bordeaux grapes such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, in identical proportions, aged for about 6 months exclusively in stainless steel tanks. It presents a young and brilliant ruby red, with an agile drink and pleasant freshness and delicate savoriness.
The Rosso "Grottaia" by Caccia al Piano is part of the wine line from the famous Bolgheri winery, known for its particular fragrance and freshness. It is a classic Bordeaux blend made equally from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, which express themselves in the wonderful and sunny area of the Tuscan coast with great richness and fruit maturity. The choice of a delicate vinification and aging only in steel gives a red wine with a pleasantly fruity profile, agile and smooth, appreciated for its youthful expressive immediacy, characterized by exuberant aromas of small red berry fruits and subtle floral nuances.
The "Grottaia" is a Rosso produced in the Tuscan estate of the Berlucchi family. The Caccia al Piano estate was part of the ancient hunting estate of the noble Della Gherardesca and extends over about thirty hectares, of which 20 are dedicated to viticulture. The vineyards are located in the splendid territory of Bolgheri, in the heart of the Via Bolgherese area. The estate consists of three different crus: Caccia al Piano, Le Grottine, and San Biagio, where the most famous international red grape varieties are cultivated: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. The grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are hand-harvested following the different ripening periods and are vinified separately. After a careful selection of the best bunches, the grapes are destemmed and sent for fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with maceration on the skins for a couple of weeks. The wine matures for a few months in steel tanks before bottling.
The "Grottaia" Rosso from the Tuscan winery Caccia al Piano offers the pleasure of a simple and direct glass, highlighting the varietal richness of the grapes, in their simple purity, without the contribution of wood. It has a bright ruby red color. On the nose, it presents aromas of violet and red flowers, scents of small forest fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry, and raspberry. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with a pleasant youthful vivacity, expressing a crisp fruit and fine tannins. The sip is clear and direct, with a finish characterized by a nice gustatory freshness. An ideal label to bring to the table with first courses with meat sauces.
