Sanzvais' Tenuta Saiano 2022
Artisanal
Organic and biodynamic"Sanzvais", Sangiovese in Romagnolo dialect, from the Tenuta Saiano winery, is a fresh wine with gentle tannins and a medium-bodied structure, a unique feature compared to the namesake wines of the area. Its grapes are gently pressed and fermented using indigenous yeasts, then aged in cement tanks for 8 months. The ruby red glass hints at a rustic nose, with aromas of small red fruits and balsamic hints.
Tenuta Saiano presents the ‘Sanzvais’, a pure Sangiovese from Romagna with a friendly and lively spirit. Tenuta Saiano is set up as a comprehensive agricultural company that, in addition to viticulture, is dedicated to the production of oil, liqueurs, vermouth, and vinegar, as well as the semi-free breeding of poultry, sheep, goats, and pigs, some of which are destined for the production of meats and cold cuts. The estate also includes a restaurant and a charming Bed & Breakfast immersed in the greenery of Valmarecchia. An oasis in perfect harmony with nature that offers authentic flavors of Romagna. “Sanzvais” is a dialect term that indicates the Sangiovese grape variety.
The ‘Sanzvais’ from Tenuta Saiano consists of only Sangiovese grapes grown according to the principles of certified organic farming on soils rich in limestone, clay, and sandstone, with streaks of gypsum. Following the manual harvest, the bunches are transferred to the winery where gentle pressing and subsequent alcoholic fermentation occur using only indigenous yeasts. The resulting maturation period of maturation takes place in cement tanks for 8 months and precedes bottling and final marketing.
The Sangiovese from Tenuta Saiano ‘Sanzvais’ is a brilliant ruby red color. The aromatic profile offers aromas of small red fruits, enriched by balsamic notes and pleasant rustic hints. On the palate, it is fresh and smooth, with gentle tannins and a medium body. An authentic and spontaneous expression of Sangiovese from Romagna, resulting from an artisanal philosophy. Thanks to its characteristic dynamism and pleasant rusticity, the ‘Sanzvais’ pairs excellently with first and second courses of the Romagna tradition, such as maltagliati with beans or rabbit porchetta.
