The Sauvignon ‘Vette’ from Tenuta San Leonardo is a white wine from Trentino that stands out for its brilliant freshness and pronounced mineral character. This historic winery has become one of the leading Italian interpreters of international grape varieties such as Carmenère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot among the black grape varieties, and Riesling Renano and indeed Sauvignon Blanc for the white grapes. The name ‘Vette’ refers to the imposing alpine peaks that rise above the vineyards.
Tenuta San Leonardo Sauvignon ‘Vette’ represents a pure expression of Sauvignon Blanc, a variety cultivated under certified organic conditions in the cool climate of Trentino, characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night. In the winery, the grapes undergo a cold pre-fermentation maceration for 12 hours, followed by gentle pressing and alcoholic fermentation of the must in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for about 20 days.
