The ambitious project of the Le Macchiole winery, started in 1975 and still in constant development, has become a driving force and a model of inspiration for companies linked to the Bolgheri territory and beyond. The decision made in the early '90s, then contrary to the times, to focus on the production of single-varietal wines quickly gave rise to now legendary labels, capable of reconciling critics, innovators, and traditionalists. This is also the case with Scrio, a pure Syrah, which today represents a flagship of this splendid and historic Tuscan reality.
The impetuous fruity aromas, integrated with spicy and resinous notes, pave the way for freshness and sapidity, making the wine rich and complex, with significant tannic structure. Le Macchiole and Scrio are both the realization of a dream: that of Eugenio Campolmi, who passed away prematurely in 2002, but whose wishes have been fully satisfied by his wife Cinzia, who today dedicates to this project the same passion and dedication as her husband.
Today Cinzia is completely satisfied with the work of the winery, for this reason in the vineyard can afford to experiment and innovate. First of all, every use of chemical products has been banned and the vineyards are managed using organic methods. The wines result, consequently, as naturally as possible, capable of encapsulating in the bottle the great potential of the Tuscan land and Bolgheri in particular. Scrio is an absolute protagonist of the range of labels from Le Macchiole: an incredible wine, capable of unleashing a surprising strength and body, accompanied by unique aromas.
