The 10 Year Old Single Malt is a whisky that originates from a historic distillery, founded in the Inner Hebrides in the early 1800s, and which still today represents a solid reference point for all enthusiasts. Despite a rather troubled history, Talisker has managed to preserve and perpetuate over time the oldest traditions, which have made it legendary. At the the basis of its success is an accurate selection of raw materials, starting from excellent quality malt, from the light and pure water of Cnoc-nan-Speireag, up to the local, salty, and brackish peat. The processing method is based on two distillations, in order to increase purity and enhance the aromas, especially spicy, of the final distillate and the phenolic component. Before bottling, the whisky rests for a full 10 years in oak barrels.
The Talisker 10 Year Old Single Malt Whisky is a great expression of the Skye tradition. It is an emblematic bottle that combines with extraordinary expressive balance the most fragrant character of malt and fruit, with the evolving notes and stylistic signature of peat, which unmistakably marks the entire production of the Hebrides. Visually, it presents a beautiful and warm bright golden color. The olfactory profile is characterized by aromas of citrus peel, ginger, delicate fruity hints, malty and dried fruit, which rest on the dense smoky notes of a background peaty, with typically marine iodized and salty nuances. The entry on the palate is very rich, broad, and full, with aromas of barley malt enveloped by sensations of oriental spices, peaty and brackish. The finish is very persistent and offers salty nuances with a pleasantly spicy touch.
