Deltetto

Deltetto is a well-established family-run winery that for over 70 years has aimed to offer the best of the Langhe and Roero's excellent wines, with a recognisable style based on cleanliness and organoleptic finesse. The winery was founded in 1953 in Canale, a municipality in the Roero area, a land of great red and white wines located on the opposite bank of the Tanaro river to the prestigious Barolo and Barbaresco areas. However, the Deltetto family has been dedicated to viticulture since the end of the 19th century, with wine production and marketing, however, only undertaken after World War II. The estate, which operates under the banner of sustainability, has been able to show all its farsightedness and ductility over the years, having been among the pioneers in the birth of the Roero appellation and having also undertaken with great success the production of Metodo Classico sparkling wines, starting the first experiments as early as the 1980s. The Deltetto family is also active in the social and cultural sphere through the 'Etichette d'autore' project, based on collaboration with young artists aimed at dealing with issues of great importance with a solidarity-based approach.

On soils of marine and alluvial origin, rich in sand and limestone, the Deltetto family raises the traditional grape varieties Arneis, Nebbiolo, Barbera and Favorita, as well as the international varieties Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, mainly used in sparkling wine production. The estate obtained organic certification in 2017, while the oenological approach adopted is aimed at obtaining wines of great aromatic cleanliness without resorting to invasive operations. With this in mind, fermentations are initiated via pied de cuve, the use of sulphur dioxide is reduced to a minimum and the use of invasive oenological aids is excluded.

Deltetto's signature labels include quite varied types and styles, each capable of conveying the high quality level of the Basso Piemonte appellations, from Alta Langa sparkling wines to Roero, passing through Barbera d'Alba, Barolo, Nebbiolo d'Alba and Roero Arneis. Among these is the fine selection 'Le conchiglie del Roero' (Roero shells), which aims to interpret the marine origin of the Roero territory in different guises.
