Xarel - lo

The "Xarel.lo A Pel" by Loxarel is the amphora white of the winery, produced with Xarell-lo, the main variety of this area. The choice of terracotta is made to return a clear wine that expresses to the maximum the varietal characteristics of this grape, aromatic and marine. The nose has intriguing hints reminiscent of salt that remind of the sea, then aromas of white fruit and herbaceous notes on the finish, like freshly cut grass: truly unique. On the palate it surprises for its minerality and freshness, traits with which the pleasing greasiness of the sip balances very well. This kind of wine is the perfect complement to a 'plateau' of raw seafood 

The name of the white wine 'Ulivel-la' is a play on words between Xarel-lo, the main grape variety and Olivella, the village where the winery Masia de la Roqua is located. This white berried grape is harvested from 60-year-old vines and, after a few months in steel, becomes a surprising artisanal product. The typical hint of anise is accompanied by citrus peel and white fruit, on the palate the tartness of the fruit pleasantly plays with the minerality of the finish

The "Amfora Sense Sulfits Afegits" Ancestral A Pèl by Loxarel is a sparkling wine produced according to Ancestral Method, a very dear style to the winery, as much as the variety that inspires its name, Xarel-lo. The fermentation in amphora gives great clarity and enhances the typical scents of this white grape, such as aromaticity and sapidity. The nose has evident floral scents, then more intense notes of almond and quince, while the finish reveals hints of fennel and Mandarin. To the palate it is equally complex: almost salty and fresh, persistent but also round, with a slight effervescence that tickles the palate. Good for cooling off during a hot afternoon or great to accompany fish appetizers

"So Joan' from Mas Gomà is a macerated white wine from Catalonia made from Xarel-lo grapes. Following artisanal and biodynamic principles, after manual harvesting a 21-day maceration and spontaneous fermentation by indigenous yeasts takes place. Once transferred into amphora, the wine stays on the fine lees for 6 months and refines for a further 6 months in the bottle. Fresh and well-balanced, it offers a savoury taste characterised by marked citrus notes and fruity hints
