Cote de Bordeaux 'Duc des Nauves' Chateau Le Puy 2024
The "Duc des Nauves" is a red wine from Bordeaux that comes from the union of the three classic grape varieties of the region: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The body is fresh and juicy, with fruity notes, floral hints, and vegetal memories.
The Cote de Bordeaux “Duc des Nauves” from Chateau Le Puy is a vibrant and dynamic expression of Bordeaux, far from standardization and staticity. Despite the immense fame that the Bordeaux area has always enjoyed, and the interpretations of the last two decades increasingly leaning towards forced concentrations and redundancy, there exists another Bordeaux that probably comes closer to the idea of the reds that made the region great until the 80s, namely wines that are indeed capable of revealing themselves over time, but at the same time played on finesse and drinkability. Chateau Le Puy represents a reality appreciated by enthusiasts, both for the non-interventionist approach adopted in the vineyard and cellar, and for the quality of the wines produced, and no less important for the truly incredible prices when compared to the quality of the bottles. A must for anyone looking for liquids that are truly representative of the region.
The “Duc des Nauves” from Chateau Le Puy is the result of a classic blend from the region made up of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the vineyard, the principles of Steinerian biodynamics are followed, excluding chemical or synthetic products and preserving life.in the soil. In the winery, spontaneous alcoholic fermentations are carried out in cement tanks, with long macerations and excluding clarifications or filtrations. The liquid ages for 10 months in small cement tanks on the fine lees.
The “Duc des Nauves” Cote de Bordeaux presents itself in the glass with the typical intense and impenetrable ruby hue. The nose is undeniably a faithful portrait of Bordeaux, but devoid of superstructures and unnecessary embellishments. There are confit tomatoes, ripe cherries, the typical lymphatic vein of the region's wines, and dark flowers. The sip is slender and elongated, indicative of a style that favors freshness and drinkability over muscle.
