Korem Argiolas 2022
The Korem is an intense red wine that expresses the most robust and intense soul of Sardinia under the sign of indigenous grape varieties and a maturation of 12 months in small barrels. The aromas evoke sour cherries, sweet spices, Mediterranean herbs, and myrtle. The sip is harmonious and velvety, with long fruity aromatic echoes.
The wine Korem is a red with an astonishing nose, evoking aromas of myrtle, in homage to the Sardinian terroir. A product of great structure, the result of a happy blend of indigenous grapes, which come together with great harmony and with a consistently satisfying sip. A label where quality abounds, as evidenced by the excellent scores obtained both in Italy and internationally, with which the Argiolas winery confirms its guarantee and reference for all Sardinian winemaking and beyond.
Korem is the name that the Argiolas winery gives to one of its red wines. It is a blend assembled from representative grape varieties of Sardinian viticulture. The vines grow within vineyards that sink their roots into a medium-textured soil tending to loose, composed mainly of limestone and clay. The grapes, once harvested, macerate for about 10-12 days, undergoing malolactic fermentation in vitrified cement wine vessels. This is followed by the aging phase, first carried out for 12 months in barrique and, after bottling, for another 6 months directly in glass.
The red Korem is a wine that, upon visual examination, presents itself with an intense color, reminiscent of ruby. The aromas that invade the nose are rich and enveloping, with notes of fruit alternating with sensations of sweet spices and more Mediterranean hints. On the palate, it is full-bodied, dominated by excellent balance and a sip in which the tannic structure is evident; it finishes with a finale characterized by a fruity aftertaste. Try it paired with rich and flavorful meat dishes, perhaps with a sweet and sour fruit-based sushi, like a good roll made with duck and plums.
